Where to watch the World Cup final in London for free
every way in, the free ones first
The final: Sunday 19 July 2026, 8pm UK time
The guaranteed free way to watch
The 2026 World Cup is free to air in the UK on BBC and ITV, with the final simulcast on BBC One and ITV1 and free to stream on BBC iPlayer and ITVX. No subscription. A UK TV Licence is legally required to watch live TV. So home, or any pub showing the BBC or ITV feed, is the surest free watch.
London venues that are free for the final
- German Kraft Brewery, Elephant and Castle: a free walk in, no ticket or booking. 700 capacity courtyard, giant screen, food stalls. Arrive 60 to 90 minutes early.
- The Dial, Home of Meantime, North Greenwich: free general admission tickets if you register online, tables first come first served. A paid £5.50 option includes a pint.
- Signature Brew, Walthamstow and Haggerston: free table bookings for non home nation matches, so free if England are not in the final. If they are, expect a paid model.
The ticketed options
KERB Social Club at Old Spitalfields (£5 to £12), Big Penny Social in Walthamstow (£20), Five Points in London Fields (about £7), Fanzone4D (paid for the final), Between The Bridges on the South Bank (£14), BOXPARK (ticketed, no walk ins), 40ft Brewery and Flat Iron Square.
There is no official London fan zone
There is no official Mayor of London fan zone for 2026. A June 2026 freedom of information response confirmed City Hall does not hold a list of one. Anyone claiming an official free fan zone is not it.
Most pubs show it free
Because the final is on BBC and ITV, most pubs let you walk in free. The big ones switch to ticketed entry for the final and fill fast, many free places take a refundable deposit, and England slots sell out early. Kickoff 8pm, finish around 10pm, so mind the last train.
Confirm before you go
Venue policies confirm late and change. Last verified 30 June 2026.
