Thamesmead Festival: a free day of music by the lake

Thamesmead's award-winning community festival takes over Southmere Park for one free day every August, with four stages of music, dance, comedy and spoken word plus a dog show, boating and a craft and food market on the lake. It was revived in 2017 with 1,000 visitors and has grown to more than 8,500.

This festival is run by Peabody and the Thamesmead community, not London Free Guide. It returns every August but the date, lineup and programme are confirmed closer to the day, so check thamesmeadnow.org.uk before you travel.
