Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 June 2026

London Free Guide is a service of Splice Labs Ltd (company number 15825212), a company registered in England and Wales. Splice Labs Ltd is the data controller for any personal data collected through London Free Guide, and you can reach us at [email protected]. We care about your privacy and we keep this simple, because that is the whole point of the guide. No ad-tracking, no selling your data, no nonsense.

The short version

  • We only collect your email if you choose to join our list.
  • We never sell or rent your email or any personal data to anyone.
  • Your saved spots are stored on your own device, not on our servers.
  • We do not use ad-tracking cookies or follow you around the web.
  • You can leave the list in one tap, any time.

What we collect and why

Your email (only if you join). When you sign up to the newsletter or tap "Join free", we collect your email address. We use it to send you the weekly roundup of free things to do in London and to confirm your subscription. That is it. Joining uses double opt-in, so you confirm by email before anything is sent. Our newsletter runs on Buttondown, a privacy-first email service, and your email is stored with them.

Your saved spots and preferences. When you save a spot, choose dark or light mode, or unlock insider tips by joining, those choices are stored locally in your own browser (using localStorage), not on our servers. We cannot see them. Clearing your browser data removes them.

The Hire us form. If you fill in the studio brief on the Hire us page, the details you enter are sent to us by email so we can reply. We keep them only to respond to your enquiry.

Brolly is our on-site helper. When it is connected to an AI service, your question may be sent there to generate an answer, so please do not enter personal or sensitive information into it.

Analytics. We do not currently run any analytics or visitor tracking. If we ever add it, it will be a privacy-friendly, cookieless tool with no personal profiles and no ad-tracking, and we will update this policy.

Cookies

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use your browser's local storage for essentials only: your saved spots, your theme choice, and whether you have joined. These stay on your device.

Who we share data with

We never sell or rent your data. We use a small number of trusted services to run the guide:

  • Buttondown stores your email and sends the newsletter.
  • Cloudflare hosts the website.
  • Google Maps opens when you tap a "get directions" or map link (Google's own terms then apply).
  • An AI provider powers Brolly.

Each has its own privacy policy.

Your choices

  • Leave the list any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by asking us. We remove you promptly.
  • Remove local data by clearing your browser data for this site.
  • Ask us anything about your data at [email protected], including to see or delete what we hold.

Children

The guide is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above. Big changes will be flagged on the site.
